Welcome To My Place

Welcome to my place. My name is Ed.
Everyone has his/her own way of relaxing. Some people read while others write. Some go dancing or out to the movies. Hobbies are another way of relaxing. As for me, I’m not happy unless I’m locked in a small room with a dozen sharp instruments placed all around me.
Carving might not be for everyone but it works for me. Time flies by, I work off tension, and end up with a sense of accomplishment that my job, out in the real world, can’t supply. I believe everyone has or should have an outlet for creativity. We spend so much time these days parked behind our computers, mindmelding with technology that we forget we have hands itching to be heard from. I find it’s a necessary balance, letting the brain take a nap and the hands go to work. I’m not saying we go brain dead but we do shut out the world around us and let our creative side free. In my case, the hands are the tools that lets my creative side take form.
Of coarse I don’t spend all my time in my workshop. The real world’s demands are too high, bills have to be paid. Besides carving, I like to spend my spare time doing work for my church or, should I say, doing the Lords work, which is another important balance. The more time you put into it the more you get from it. Just like working to pay the landlord. The landlord on the top floor receives his payment from us when we show charity to others and spread the word of Christ.
I hope you enjoy your stay. This site is an ongoing project of my work, as I am always adding new carvings. I’m not a pro yet. I do what I do because I like it. I hope you do also.
                                                    your friend,
                                                      Ed Stevenson
