...later I carved bodies, using the nut as the head. Here I have a cowboy and king Neptune. Both figures have heads that move. Neptune was the first of this type of Nut Person his face is painted on only while the cowboys face is partially carved as well as painted. I had a lot of fun with these to projects. |
This Alien Nut Person was another fun project. Both arms move and the tongue can move as well. I hope the next time you see a walnut you take a closer look, There is so much that can be done with them especially if you have a active imagination. Basically you open the nut as best you can without breaking it into too many pieces. Glue the nut back together then take it from there. Know what you want to do before hand; a Nut Person like this one requires work that is best done before it is glued back together. |
